Originally from Neosho, MO, I graduated from high school in 2001 and attended Southwest Baptist University. I graduated from SBU in 2005 with a degree in mathematics. The summer after graduation I married the love of my life, Ashley, a middle school reading teacher in Ozark. The Lord has blessed us with four beautiful children – Abby, Benjamin, Isaac, and Susanna. I attended Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN, graduating in 2008 with an MDiv. In 2022, I received a Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, writing my dissertation on the ecclesiology of John Bunyan. I was the pastor of FBC Buffalo for five years before coming to First Baptist Nixa in January 2014. I am passionate about the gospel, the doctrines of grace, and the great truths of the Reformation, expository preaching, and seeing the gospel made visible through the local church to the glory of Christ.
